More Details

The project extends an opportunity for young people to acquire fresh competencies, which in turn will empower them to generate income within their local area. Currently, rural Nepal grapples with a pressing issue – YOUTH UNREST. The scourge of unemployment compels young individuals to migrate in pursuit of a livelihood, thereby exposing themselves to the risk of adopting anti-social roles within society. The programme is designed to bolster their self-assurance and provide them with a sense of purpose in life, as the youth are widely recognized as the future of the nation.

Training sessions were designed and conducted by experienced professionals from Sapana Coffee and Barista School, Chitwan covering a wide range of topics. The main idea was a comprehensive approach to educating coffee professionals, particularly coffee baristas, from the initial stages of coffee cultivation to the final preparation of the beverage. This approach encompasses both theoretical classroom education and practical hands-on experience. On 19 February 2024, out of 50 students, 41 Students took part in final exam and viva session of Coffee Barista Training. The questionnaire included the overall comprehensive Theory class, History of coffee, Coffee growing culture in Nepal, Coffee species, Processing, extracting perfect espresso, Coffee making session, 60+ kind of coffee beverages, Bubble tea class, Mojito class, Latte art session, Coffee tasting session, Manual brewing class, Cleaning, safety, and maintenance, Customer service and Hospitality.

Each participant has been presented with a Certificate of Completion, and special recognition has been given to the Top-Three students and the Best Student. Among them, seven have secured job opportunities, while three have incorporated coffee cuisine into their existing F&B restaurants. Well done to everyone on their achievements!
