SVSI Distributed Biomass Stoves in Bharatpur Metropolitan City and Kalika Municipality

Designed to reduce dependence on forests, reduce deforestation, and improve livelihoods, Sapana Ecostove is fostering strong collaborations with local communities and government authorities. In 2025, SVSI is scaling up the efforts to reach more households, ensuring broader environmental and health benefits. On February 18, 2025, SVSI distributed biomass eco-stoves to 54 households in Gitanagar, Bharatpur Metropolitan City. The following day, February 19, 2025, an additional 81 households in Kalika Municipality Ward No. 2 received eco-stoves. The distribution event in Kalika was attended by Mayor Mr. Binod Regmi, Deputy Mayor Mrs. Bimala Tamang, and other local representatives, representing strong partnership between SVSI and local government.

The Sapana Eco-Stove initiative provides families with eco-friendly alternatives to traditional cooking methods, helping them save energy, reduce harmful emissions, and improve indoor air quality. By addressing deforestation and promoting sustainable practices, the project is creating a positive impact on both the environment and community health. This initiative shows SVSI’s commitment to sustainable development and our mission to empower communities while protecting natural resources.
