Sapana Village Social Impact (SVSI), in partnership with Ichhakamana Rural Municipality (IRM), successfully conducted an “Off-Season Vegetable Farming Training” as part of the Rain Communities Project. The event aimed to empower local farmers with advanced agricultural techniques, specifically focusing on off-season tomato cultivation. The training was led by Agriculture Officer Samikshya Poudel, who provided participants from the Ghurkesh Rain Community with comprehensive insights into modern and resilient farming practices. The session highlighted innovative techniques to enhance productivity and adapt to the challenges of off-season farming.
The program was inaugurated by IRM Chairperson Dan Bahadur Gurung and saw the participation of key municipal figures, including Chief Administrative Officer Chandrakanta Basnet, Agriculture Technician Aashish Tripathi, and MIS Operator Rajkumar Gurung. Their presence underscored the significance of agricultural advancement in the region.
A total of 24 beneficiaries, who have traditionally relied on conventional farming methods, actively engaged in the training. They expressed enthusiasm and optimism about applying these new techniques to improve their agricultural outcomes and contribute to sustainable community development.
